Coquí Folktale2024
This two panel folktale explains how the Coquí frog from Puerto Rico got its name. The son of a chief, Coquí, is taken away by deity of chaos, Juracan, while the deity of water, Atabey, watches in shock, unable to save him. Atabey in her human form cries with her frog formed from sadness, calling out for him. Petroglyphs, the original Taino symbols adorn the piece.
